Consulting

I aspire to leverage my expertise and research output to address pressing societal challenges

I have been working closely with international and local environmental organizations in advisory and consulting roles since the middle of the 2010s. Specifically, I have served on the advisory boards or panels for the following organizations: Ocean Park Conservation Fund, Hong Kong; Woodland Park Zoo; WWF-Hong Kong; and WWF/TRAFFIC. I have also offered consulting services for specific projects or programs by local organizations.

I actively engage in collaborative projects with local environmental organizations. Here are a few examples:

  • I am currently collaborating with Outdoor Wildlife Learning Hong Kong, a local outdoor education organization, on a project aimed to understand the levels of nature connectedness and the psychological impacts of outdoor education among school children in Hong Kong. The project is funded by the Swire Charity Trust and will be completed in two years.

  • I collaborated with Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden in the past two years and conducted two research studies. The first study was aimed at understanding Hong Kong people’s awareness and behavior regarding forest-friendly products. The second study was aimed to examine the impact of an outdoor exhibition about gibbons on visitors; the findings from this study have just been published:

  • I conducted several impact assessment studies for Ocean Park Hong Kong and WWF-Hong Kong, respectively. For Ocean Park Hong Kong, a study was conducted to examine the impact of its animal encounter programs on visitors’ marine conservation knowledge, attitude, and behavior. For WWF-Hong Kong, a study was conducted to examine the impact of its coastal environment conservation program on participants, and another study was conducted to understand Hong Kong people’s participation in the annual Earth Hour event. For the latter, an article has been published:
